Last updated: March 19, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Trip on Rails ("the Service"), operated by Trip on Rails ("we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Trip on Rails is a trip planning platform that allows users to create itineraries, visualize routes on maps, track costs, manage tasks, and collaborate with others. We offer both free and paid subscription plans.

3. Account Registration

You must create an account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration and to keep your account information up to date.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Some features of the Service require a paid subscription ("Pro Plan"). Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis. You may cancel your subscription at any time, and you will retain access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period. Refunds are not provided for partial billing periods.

5. User Content

You retain ownership of all content you create on the Service, including trips, itineraries, and notes ("User Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your User Content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Upload malicious content or code
  • Impersonate another person or entity
  • Use the Service to send spam or unsolicited communications

7. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party services including Google Maps, Stripe, and OpenAI. Your use of these integrations is subject to the respective third-party terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability or accuracy of third-party services.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by Trip on Rails and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately, and we may delete your User Content after a reasonable retention period.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Trip on Rails shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of data or profits.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
